Safe neighborhoods are the foundation of a strong community. People deserve to feel safe in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods—and to trust that help will arrive quickly when they need it.

The City's community survey shows that public safety is residents' top priority. At the same time, the City budget shows ongoing challenges with police staffing and recruitment, even as service expectations remain high.

As a City Councilmember, I will focus on:

• Supporting police and fire staffing capacity
• Improving recruitment and retention so vacancies don't strain response times
• Using data and transparency to ensure resources match community needs
• Strengthening community-oriented public safety strategies

The rising cost of living is affecting people across our community. Seniors, families, renters, and working residents are all feeling the pressure of housing costs and everyday expenses.

Affordable housing and cost of living are major concerns for Milpitas residents. While new housing continues to be approved, affordability remains out of reach for many.

As a City Councilmember, I will focus on:

• Housing that delivers real affordability—not just approvals
• Protecting seniors and long-time residents from displacement
• Supporting workforce housing for essential workers
• Partnering with regional and local organizations to expand housing solutions

Strong services require strong financial planning. Residents expect reliable public safety, infrastructure, and community services—without sudden cuts or surprise tax increases.

The City balanced the current budget using one-time funds and projects long-term structural deficits if changes are not made. This creates real risks for future service levels.

As a City Councilmember, I will focus on:

• Long-term financial planning, not short-term fixes
• Reducing reliance on one-time budget solutions
• Protecting core services like public safety and infrastructure
• Making the City budget easier for residents to understand

Daily quality of life depends on reliable infrastructure. Traffic congestion, potholes, and aging streets affect safety, commute times, and neighborhood livability.

The City has increased infrastructure spending, yet residents continue to rank street repairs and traffic among their top concerns.

As a City Councilmember, I will focus on:

• Preventive maintenance to avoid higher costs later
• Clear timelines and accountability for street and traffic projects
• Safer streets for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians
• Prioritizing neighborhood-level improvements

Good government starts with trust and clear communication. Residents deserve to understand how decisions are made and how their tax dollars are used.

While many residents are satisfied with City services, the City's data shows a continued need for clearer communication and accountability.

As a City Councilmember, I will focus on:

• Making City information easier to access and understand
• Explaining tradeoffs honestly and clearly
• Listening to residents before decisions are made
• Governing for everyone who calls this home
